
Biography
Dr. Elias Chirwa is a Senior Lecturer in Fisheries and Aquatic Science at Mzuzu University. He holds a Bachelor of Education Science (Biology) from the University of Malawi, an MSc in Limnology from Belgium, and is currently pursuing his PhD studies at Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) in Malawi. Dr. Chirwa has extensive expertise in fisheries management and aquatic ecology, contributing significantly to the academic and research community. He has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and has been involved in various research projects focusing on the ecological impacts of fish species and the use of bioindicators for ecosystem health. Dr Chirwa is also a co-investigator in interdisciplinary projects, collaborating with researchers from Mzuzu University and the University of Strathclyde on environmental sampling in Lake Malawi. His dedication to teaching, research, and environmental conservation has made him a respected figure in his field
