Main Campus, Mzuzu View mapThis is a one-year programme aiming at providing students with advanced scientific knowledge, skills, values and attitudes required for them to competently apply physics and electronics concepts in solving real life problems as well as to conduct research at local and international level. It further aims at preparing students for post-graduate programmes the department plans to run in the near future.
The courses offered under this programme are: Advanced Nuclear Physics; Advanced Quantum Mechanics; Signal Processing; Advanced Opto-Electronics and Photonics; Medical Physics, Advanced Solid-State Physics; Optical Fiber Communication; Signal Analysis/Understanding, Nanoscience and Research Methods in Physics.
Entry Requirements:
- A strong pass in ordinary Bachelor’s degree with strong components of Physics and Electronics,
- It is desirable (not a must) that candidates possess a sound background in computer programming.
- Relevant work experience will be an added advantage
