Main Campus, Mzuzu View mapThe BPDVC programme is designed to take into account current national and international priorities and policies in the field of parasitology and disease vector control. It aims at equipping students with in-depth knowledge in theoretical and practical aspects of the biology and control of disease vectors, technical skills, values and attitudes required to assume a role in studying, investigating, surveillance, and controlling disease vectors.
It is also aimed at preparing learners for the wide range of career opportunities in parasitology and disease vector control related areas where they could be employed by consulting agencies and government bodies at both national and international level in such positions which include and not limited to medical parasitologists, medical entomologist, epidemiologist, immunologist, vector control surveyor, vector control technician and vector control specialist, among others.
Entry Requirements
Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or its equivalent with an aggregate of not more than 30 points with at least six credits including English, Biology, Mathematics or Additional Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
