BSc (Hons) Mathematics and Statistics

Launched in 2021, this is a full-time face-to-face programme running for ten semesters (five academic years).  The first four years focus on the taught component in mathematics or statistics including a dissertation in the seventh and eighth semesters. The fifth academic year, meant for those who graduate with honours, also focuses on the taught component and a dissertation in mathematics or statistics in the ninth and tenth semesters.

The programme exposes students to high-level mathematics and statistics. Graduates from the programme will have developed very high computational, analytical and problem-solving skills. This is demonstrated in their ability to solve advanced mathematical and statistical problems as well as analyse and interpret statistical data through the use of both pen and paper and computer software. These are skills applicable in solving many mathematical and statistical problems in real life.
