This includes, but is not limited to, wildlife protection, game management, conservation and management, natural resource management, environmental consulting firms, colleges and universities, research institutes having centres of excellence or teaching and carrying out research, consultancies and outreach in Environmental and Biodiversity protection, conservation and management. Hence the program is well suited to both academic and non-academic careers in biological diversity conservation and management and you prepared for positions which require you to analyse policy and influence decision-making in the field of biodiversity conservation and Management.
Entry Requirements
Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or its equivalent with an aggregate of not more than 30 points with at least six credits including English, Biology, Mathematics or Additional Mathematics, Chemistry or Physics and Geography or Social and Development Studies.
Outreach activities
The Department has previously distributed hand sanitizer to communities in Rumphi, Mzimba and Nkhata-Bay as a means of helping the community to prevent COVID-19;
The Department, in partnership with Wildlife and Environment Society of Malawi, organizes a Biodiversity and World Environmental Day Activities with the aim of civic-educating the communities on how to conserve biodiversity. Capacity building to the Ministry of Health-Research division to train research coordinators across the country. Capacity building to the National TB Control Programme to train district TB coordinators across the country.
